Security concerns govern a big part of people’s daily lives in the current world. That is why we see outrage and wide-reaching concern at incidents like Yahoo breach of 2013 with 3 billion accounts compromised, Facebook-Cambridge Analytica scandal and Quora in 2018 with over 50 million accounts compromised. Security in the real world is a bit easier to achieve, and a simple surveillance camera can accomplish a lot for the average man. The aim of this project is to design a Surveillance System based on a Raspberry Pi 3. The goal is to monitor the activity of an intended location. Once a human is detected in the region, the system automatically sends alerts to the owner, keeps a tab of the duration of the visit, takes pictures and allows for the live streaming of the security feed remotely.
