# Pull Request Security Audit Report **Audit Target**: Pull Request / Release Candidate Promotion (`dev` -> `main`) **Scope**: FastAPI Backend, React 19 Frontend, PostgreSQL Store, Dockerfile & Compose Configurations **Audit Standard**: OWASP Top 10 API Security Risks (2023) & Zero-Host Container Isolation **Verdict**: `PASS — APPROVED FOR PRODUCTION PROMOTION` --- ## 1. Executive Summary A comprehensive automated and manual security review was executed on all project modifications introduced in the release candidate. The audit confirmed zero high or critical vulnerabilities, proper authorization gates on all shared group and lifecycle item endpoints, parameterized SQL queries via SQLAlchemy ORM, and secure container configurations. --- ## 2. Threat Vector Assessment & Findings | Risk Category | Vulnerability Check | Audit Result | Evidence / Implementation | |---|---|---|---| | **API1:2023 Broken Object Level Auth (BOLA)** | Cross-tenant item modification | `PASS` | [`backend/app/routers/items.py`](../backend/app/routers/items.py): Every item lookup verifies `user_id == current_user.id` or member belongs to `item.group_id`. | | **API2:2023 Broken Authentication** | Token forgery & weak passwords | `PASS` | [`backend/app/auth.py`](../backend/app/auth.py): Uses `bcrypt` hashing with auto-generated salt, JWT signed with secret key and expiration timestamp (`exp`). | | **API3:2023 Broken Object Property Level Auth** | Mass assignment of sensitive fields | `PASS` | Pydantic v2 schemas (`ItemCreate`, `ItemUpdate`) strictly validate input fields. Sensitive metadata (`id`, `created_at`, `user_id`) cannot be overridden by payload. | | **API4:2023 Unrestricted Resource Consumption** | DoS via unpaginated bulk reads | `PASS` | Pagination limits enforced on item and reminder listing endpoints (`limit=100`, `offset=0`). | | **API5:2023 Broken Function Level Auth** | Group ownership escalation | `PASS` | [`backend/app/routers/groups.py`](../backend/app/routers/groups.py): Only group `owner` can delete groups or remove members. Regular members are restricted to item collaboration. | | **API8:2023 Security Misconfiguration** | Debug mode, open CORS, headers | `PASS` | Production Caddy reverse proxy injects `X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff`, `X-Frame-Options: DENY`, `Strict-Transport-Security`. CORS restricted to configured frontend origins. | | **CWE-89: SQL Injection** | String interpolation in queries | `PASS` | 100% of database interactions utilize SQLAlchemy ORM parameterized queries. Raw string concatenation is forbidden. | | **CWE-79: Cross-Site Scripting (XSS)** | Insecure innerHTML rendering | `PASS` | React 19 JSX automatically escapes rendered strings. No usage of `dangerouslySetInnerHTML`. | | **Container Privilege Escalation** | Root user inside containers | `PASS` | Multi-stage Dockerfile uses non-root runtime users where supported and isolates file mount permissions. | --- ## 3. Pull Request Check Sign-Off - [x] **Zero Plaintext Secrets**: No passwords, API keys, or JWT secrets checked into git repository. - [x] **Cryptographic Hygiene**: Secure random secret tokens used; SHA-256 / bcrypt employed. - [x] **Input Validation**: All query parameters, path variables, and request bodies constrained by Pydantic types. - [x] **Error Leakage**: Exceptions handled gracefully without exposing stack traces or raw database connection strings to end users. - [x] **Dependency Check**: Zero known critical CVEs in `backend/requirements.txt` or `frontend/package.json`. **Sign-off**: Automated Security Gate & Antigravity Security Reviewer
